Start/Finish: McMenamin's
Hotel Oregon 310 NE Evans St. (corner of Evans & 3rd St.) in McMinnville.
Additional parking is available at parking structure located on 6th and Davis, across from
the Community Center.
Directions: From 99W going North-becomes Baker Street, turn Right on 6th.
From 99W going South-becomes Adams Street, turn Left on 5th, continue to Davis
and to parking structure.
From parking structure walk to Evans Street, going past the Courthouse on your
left. Continue 2 blocks to McMenamin's Hotel.
Enter the side door, and ask for Volkswalk (Mac Trackers) Walking Box to
register (located in front of display case next to Hotel Registration counter).
10K Route-Daily, dawn to dusk. Fairly flat route, going through historic
downtown area, passing thru Cozine Creek, and entering the lovely Linfield
College Campus. Walk then goes to Joe Dancer Park where local soccer and
baseball games are played seasonally. Park is secluded and quiet at other times.
End of walk takes you past the Yamhill County Courthouse, by various Wineries
& Brew Pubs in the "Grainery District" and past the original Train
Depot on Historic Third Street. Stop in for tasting at Panther Creek towards the
end of walk. There are many opportunities for Wine Tasting on 3rd Street.
5K Route-An easy 1 that takes you
through historic downtown, walk past the train station then on to Linfield
College Campus viewing unique old buildings, fountains and beautifully
landscaped area's. On return you will walk past the Fire Station and return to McMenamin's
where you started. Easy for strollers, not all curbs cut for wheelchairs
however.
